Oversikt

Originally a Fixed Broadband Wireless Access standard, the 802.16 standard has grown to include mobile, the 802.16e version. Thus this standard, often called WiMAX after the industry body promoting interoperable solutions, is intended to provide a worldwide approach to the provision of both fixed and mobile Broadband Wireless Access services using a wide range of radio frequencies and with different environmental assumptions.

Forkunnskaper

A good understanding of general networking principals are essential. Students who have an understanding of, and experience with, basic radio propagation will also find the course easier to position and understand.
