CCIE Voice
Summary:
CCIE certification in Voice Certifies expert-level knowledge of
voice-over-IP solutions in the enterprise
Target Audience
Experienced network engineers with advanced skills and knowledge in
designing, maintaining, troubleshooting Enterprise voice-based
networks.
Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE certification; other
professional certifications or training courses are not required
although CCVP is strongly recommended.

Candidates are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the
topics in the exam blueprints and strongly encouraged to have three
to five years of job experience before attempting
certification.
The CCIE Voice exam is in 2 stages:
CCIE Voice Written Exam
Candidates must pass a two-hour, written qualification exam
covering those technologies and applications that comprise a Cisco
Enterprise VoIP solution before they are eligible to schedule the
lab exam.
CCIE Voice Lab Exam The eight-hour lab exam
tests candidates ability to get the VoIP solution operating in a
timed test situation. They must pass the lab within three years of
passing the written to achieve certification. Their first lab
attempt must also be made within 18 months.
Re-certification
CCIEs are required to pass one CCIE written exam within the
24-month period preceding their recertification deadline.
A passing grade on any of the currently
available written exams satisfies the requirement. All CCIEs are
required to recertify.
