Desktop Virtualization

Virtualized desktops are hosted on a remote central server instead of on the hard drive of local personal computer. Desktop virtualization software separates an individual’s PC applications, files, data, etc. from their desktop. Benefits of this computing model include lowering the total cost of ownership, extending hardware life cycles, increasing security, lowering energy output, and centralizing desktop management. VMware’s solution, VMware VIEW, is built on top of their vSphere product and therefore leverages all the advantages of quick deployment, scalability and availabitity to the desktop world.
