courses
|
Following the announcement of the Cisco CCNP Wireless
Certification during Cisco Live 2009, Cisco officially released the
CCNP Wireless courses on July 24. With the introduction of the CCNP
Wireless certification and -courses, Cisco is recognizing the
growing demand for wireless professionals responsible for the
design, implementation, security, and operation of wireless
networks and mobility infrastructures.
CCNP Wireless is a professional level certification, which
serves as the next step for individuals who have completed their
CCNA Wireless certification and are interested in advancing their
career in Cisco wireless technologies.

Valid CCNA Wireless Certification or any CCIE Certification can
act as a pre-requisite for the Cisco Certified Network Professional
Wireless certification. The CCNP Wireless is made out of four
modules, which can be taken in random order:
Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Mobility Services
(IUWMS)
The 5-day IUWMS course
is designed to give participants a firm understanding of how to
integrate mobility services into the network as well as tune and
troubleshoot the WLAN and implement indoor enterprise mesh
networks.
Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Voice Networks
(IUWVN)
The IUWVN course (5 days) is designed to
give students a firm understanding of how to integrate VoWLAN
services into the WLAN and be able to implement VoWLAN, QoS, and
high-bandwidth applications into the wireless network.
Conducting Cisco Unified Wireless Site Survey
(CUWSS)
The goal of the 5-day
CUWSS course is to provide students with information and practice
activities to prepare students to technically plan and conduct a
wireless site survey. The student should be able to design the RF
network and conduct a post installation assessment to ensure
compliancy.
Implementing Advanced Cisco Unified Wireless Security
(IAUWS)
The goal of the course is to provide network professional with
information to prepare them to secure the wireless network from
security threats via appropriate security policies and best
practices, as well as ensure the proper implementation of security
standards and proper configuration of security components such as
ACS and NAC.
